We’ve got engagement photos of Casey and Cassidy to show you this week! We can’t wait to celebrate the wedding in a few short months!
Check out the beginning of their story:
How did you first meet?
Casey and Cassidy’s mothers met and started chatting one day and Casey’s mom shared a photo of him with Cassidy’s mom. This laid the groundwork for the start of their relationship. Casey and Cassidy talked and texted for 2 years before officially meeting in person at Casey’s family reunion in Okaboji. After that, Casey agreed to be Cassidy’s date for her sister’s wedding.
When did you know (s)he was the one?
It was love at first sight, since they talked for 2 years before actually meeting in person. A specific moment for Cassidy: Sitting on the dock watching the stars and talking, Casey thought he was seeing shooting stars. They were actually fireflies; they must not have those in Texas!
Tell us about the proposal!
Casey had it all planned for the fourth of July. The day started at City Beach, Clear Lake. Cassidy’s friends were in town and she wanted to spend time with them all day, while Casey wanted to leave so they could get ready for the night (Casey wanted her to look good for the proposal but Cassidy wouldn’t leave because she wanted to be with her friends). They finally left, got ready, and went to the bars in Clear Lake. Casey bought Chinese Lanterns and went to grab them from the car. (Casey only told 2 of our closest friends so they could direct her out to the dock with the Chinese Lantern lit and ready to go; he didn’t want anyone else to go, he thought it would be more special that way. But one friend told another, who told another, and before he knew it they were all walking down to the dock where Casey was – all 13 of them). While Casey was lighting off the lantern, it read: Cassidy will you marry me, Cassidy wasn’t catching on. By the time she did, Casey was down on one knee and the Chinese Lantern was lit for too long, causing the fire part to fall off, almost starting Casey on fire. Everyone started screaming when they found out, it ended up working our perfectly! Casey is pretty sure this is literally the one and ONLY time Cassidy was ever surprised (she usually tries to ruin them by finding out)!
